March Madness tickets
If you bought March Madness Raffle tickets, you can check how you’re doing at sacredheart-pitt.mymarchmadness.net. If you haven’t bought them, it’s not too late! The deadline to enter is March 30. Send back the filled-out ticket stubs with payment (from the packet sent home earlier) or call the office if you need more tickets. Good luck!

Junior Great Books begins in April, sign up now
Sacred Heart is offering a spring session of Junior Great Books, an after-school book club for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Students will meet on Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m., April 11 through May 30.
Junior Great Books helps students achieve a better understanding of stories by discussing questions and insights with fellow readers.
In past years, Sacred Heart students have enjoyed playing games, drawing pictures and even creating their own plays and movies to get more out of the stories they shared.
The registration fee is $30 and covers all books and supplies. For information about tuition assistance, please contact the school office.
If your child would like to join Junior Great Books, please fill out the form, print it out, and send it to the school office by March 15.

Family Fitness Day set for March 24
Family Fitness Day will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. in the Activities Building. You won’t want to miss this fun-filled afternoon with numerous activities for all ages! Healthy lunch foods and snacks will be available throughout the afternoon. A suggested donation is $3 per child.
Please fill out the RSVP and return to school by Wednesday, March 21.

Come cheer on JV girls in playoffs Wednesday
The junior varsity A girls basketball team will play St. Theresa at home at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 29 in the second round of the Diocesan playoffs. It’s another ‘red-out’! Wear a red shirt or buy a $3 ‘red-out’ t-shirt at the door. Admission is free for students. We are hoping for a gym full of fans to cheer the girls on!

Get Pirates tickets for May 11 Catholic Schools Night
The Pirates play the Houston Astros on Friday, May 11, and you can be there as part of Catholic Schools Night. Ticket orders are due by April 30. For more information and a ticket order form, download the flier.

Musical by 5th and 6th graders is March 1
Don’t miss a wonderful evening as Joust! A Mighty Medieval Musical is presented by the 5th and 6th grade students. Showtime is 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 1 in the auditorium.
Be ready to be captivated by the wonderful Legend of King Arthur with a slight twist in the story. How will the Knights deal with their weapons being replaced by . . . musical instruments? The Damsels make sure the Knights will keep to their promise.

Cheer on girls’ basketball teams in playoffs Thursday
Put on your best red shirt and join us to cheer on the girls’ JV and varsity basketball A teams at playoff games on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Gym. JV plays St. Louise at 6:30 p.m. and varsity takes on St. Thomas Moore at 7:45 p.m. Red Out t-shirts will be available for $3 at the door (limited supply). See the flier for more details.

Summer camp sign-up starts now
Sacred Heart’s always-popular summer camps will be as busy and fun-filled as ever this year. In past years, some weeks have filled up so don’t delay signing up. Students entering grades K to 8 in the fall are eligible for the camps. Forms and more information are available here.

Sign up now for Family Brunch
Catholic Schools Week kicks off January 29 with a Family Brunch in the cafeteria after the 9:30 a.m. Mass. All school families are invited but reservations are required by January 23. A full schedule of Catholic School Week events will be sent home soon. Download a brunch registration form here.
