Cheer on girls’ basketball teams in playoffs Thursday
Put on your best red shirt and join us to cheer on the girls’ JV and varsity basketball A teams at playoff games on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Gym. JV plays St. Louise at 6:30 p.m. and varsity takes on St. Thomas Moore at 7:45 p.m. Red Out t-shirts will be available for $3 at the door (limited supply). See the flier for more details.

Summer camp sign-up starts now
Sacred Heart’s always-popular summer camps will be as busy and fun-filled as ever this year. In past years, some weeks have filled up so don’t delay signing up. Students entering grades K to 8 in the fall are eligible for the camps. Forms and more information are available here.

Sign up now for Family Brunch
Catholic Schools Week kicks off January 29 with a Family Brunch in the cafeteria after the 9:30 a.m. Mass. All school families are invited but reservations are required by January 23. A full schedule of Catholic School Week events will be sent home soon. Download a brunch registration form here.

Gingerbread House event is Dec. 9; sign up by Nov. 22
The Annual Gingerbread House event will be December 9 from 6 to 8 p.m.
For those families who are new—or who have not attended before—Gingerbread House Building is an event the whole family will enjoy. We provide you with graham crackers, icing, cookies and candies of every shape and size.
Some families bring models along with them—their own pre-fabricated cardboard forms—to build their houses around. Some boxes will be available here on the night of the event, but only on a first come, first served basis.
The deadline to sign up for this event will be Tuesday, November 22. Click here for a sign-up form. This is our most popular family event, and sells out every year, so please turn in your form on time to secure your spot.
Thank you to those who have already signed up to volunteer. If you would like to volunteer you can indicate that on your sign up form.

Join our Veterans Day celebration on Nov. 11
November 11, Veterans Day, is a very special to all of us. We will honor all living and deceased veterans as well as all men and women who are currently in service to our country at 10:45 a.m. in the Activity Building. You are welcome to join us. We ask that you be in the Activity Building at 10:30 a.m. If you have a picture of a veteran or someone currently serving in the Armed Forces, please send it to school for your child to hold in honor at our ceremony. Thank you.

Protecting God’s Children Workshop will be Nov. 9
The Protecting God’s Children Workshop is one of the requirements for all parent volunteers. Sacred Heart School will host a workshop at 6:30 p.m on Wednesday, November 9. If you have not yet attended this program, please call the office to register. Please check www.diopitt.org for other sessions elsewhere.

Tennis program extended
The afterschool tennis program has been extended for one week to allow time for an award ceremony and pizza party. The last session, which will include a tennis lesson, will be Monday, October 24, and will cost $15. Thank you for your participation.
